Six years after their previous traditionally animated feature Home On The Range, it's nice to see Disney put their PCs into sleep mode for a return to the style that made the studio's name.

Yet while directors Ron Clements and John Musker delivered two of the company's biggest hits with The Little Mermaid and Aladdin, the indifference met by their next two efforts Hercules and Treasure Planet surely hastened the industry's transition from pen-and-paint to pixels.

The Princess And The Frog Movie Download In Hindi 720p

So enjoyment of The Princess And The Frog is largely down to your expectations.

Those anticipating a 21st century Dumbo may be disappointed with the heavy-handed life lessons, lack of memorable musical numbers and stock characters.

That said, anyone in the market for a bright and busy back-flip on a much-loved fairytale - i.e. the junior majority - will be adequately served by the timeless life lessons, light musical numbers and familiar-feeling characters.

It does score a notable Disney first in that all the main protagonists are 'of colour', chief among them being poor Louisiana belle Tiana (voiced by Anika Noni Rose, the one in Dreamgirls who wasn't Beyonce and didn't win an Oscar).

Working herself to the bone while her spoiled (white) friend Charlotte gets everything on a plate from her wealthy daddy, Tiana wishes on a star that one day she might finally be able to open her own restaurant.

As if by magic, a frog appears. It is by magic. Black magic. See, the talking slimeball is actually Prince Naveen (Bruno Campos), a roving playboy who has fallen foul of New Orleans's resident voodoo villain Dr Facilier (the Keith David).

Mistaking Tiana for a real princess, Naveen promises that one kiss will guarantee happily ever afters for both of them. Needless to say, they both end up in the same boat.

Their quest for a return to human form takes them deep into the bayou, where they find help from a trumpet-playing alligator called Louis (Jungle Book homage ahoy!), Ray the moth-eaten firefly, and twinkly, wrinkly white witch Mama Odie.

But while a trio of frog-hunting hillbillies are easy to outwit, the dark forces of Doc Facilier present a much trickier proposition...

Princess And The Frog Story

Like a Mardi Gras parade, it all passes in an enjoyable flash of noise and colour that kids will find, well, ribbeting.
