PicoDrive is a Sega Genesis, Sega CD and Sega Megadrive emulator for the PSP. An emulator acts as a simulated video game console and will load and run ROM/BIN game files extracted from the Sega system discs when installed on the PSP. Sega BIOS files are needed for installation and the user must own the original game to download the ROM file. The PSP must be running custom firmware for this emulator to work.

Download PicoDrive ZIP file to the desktop from psp.dashhacks.com/file/1353.

Connect the PSP to the computer with the USB cable. Navigate to “System” on the PSP, select “USB” and press “X.”

Open the “PicoDrive_psp_151.zip” files with WinRAR. Select the “PicoDrive” folder and click “Extract to” at the top of the window. In the right-hand pane of the window, click the “+” beside the PSP drive. Click the “+” beside the “PSP” folder and select the “GAME” folder and click “OK.” This will copy the PicoDrive files to the PSP.

Download Bios file from megaupload.com/?d=LS4X9LW2. Open RAR file with WinRAR, select all files and click “Extract to.” In the right-hand pane, click the “+” beside the PSP drive. Click the “+” beside the “PSP” folder and select the “GAME” folder and click “OK.”

Open “Computer” and double click on the PSP drive. Open the “PSP/GAME/PicoDrive” folders. Right click and choose “New/Folder” from the menu. Name this folder “ROM.”

Place game ROM/BIN files in the newly created ROM folder.

Disconnect the PSP from the computer and navigate to the “GAME” menu. Select “memory” and press “X.”

Select “PicoDrive” icon and press “X.” Highlight “Load new ROM/ISO” and press “O.” Scroll down to “/ROM” and press “O.”

Select a game from the list and press “O.” Game will load.

Warnings

It is illegal to download ROMs of games if you don't own the original disk or game cartridge.
