Kamen Rider: Battride War II (仮面ライダーバトライド・ウォーⅡKamen Raidā Batoraido Wō Tsū) is a sequel to the 2013 Kamen Rider Series video game Kamen Rider: Battride War, it was announced by Bandai and was released for PlayStation 3 and Wii U on June 26, 2014.[1] It is the second installment of the Battride War series of Kamen Rider Series games.

Unlike the first game which was based on the shows, this game is heavily based on the movies instead. Those movies include Kamen Rider Decade: All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker, Kamen Rider W Forever: A to Z/The Gaia Memories of Fate, and Kamen Rider Wizard in Magic Land.

Transformations that debuted in this game included Gaim Jimber Lemon and Kachidoki Arms, Fourze Fusion States, OOO Burakawani and Super Tatoba Combos, Decade Strongest Complete Form, Den-O Super Climax Form, Wizard Infinity Gold Dragon, Double CycloneJokerGoldXtreme, and BaronMango Arms. Kamen Riders Eternal, Sorcerer and other movie villains made their appearances too. Wizard Infinity Style and Beast Hyper, whom previously were DLC, now act as a form changes for their normal counterparts.

A limited ‘Sound Edition’ was released simultaneously with the standard edition. It featured more songs than the previous game’s Sound Edition.

A sequel called Kamen Rider: Battride War Genesis was later announced at the 2015 Tokyo Game Show and will feature the characters from Kamen Rider Ghost and Kamen Rider Drive, as there was no Battride War sequel during Kamen Rider Drive's airing in early 2015. The sequel was released in 2016 to celebrate the Kamen Rider franchise's 45th anniversary.

Notes

  • Some of the Rider finalforms in the game are ones that were not used in the TV series and movie exclusives.
    • Den-O, whose SuperClimax Form from Climax Heroes series was replaced with the original Climax Form in the prequel game, is playable in this game as its Ultimate Form.
    • Decade's Strongest Complete Form is only a re-texture of the original Complete Form with Rising Ultimate Kuuga and Super Climax Form as the cards on his armor. This marks the first time this form is playable in a video game.
  • This game features the first actual appearance of Kiva Emperor Form's Bassha Fever attack, Emperor Aqua Tornado. The finisher had never been used in Kiva's respective TV series or any feature films, video games, crossovers or expanded universe material in the franchise until this game.
  • The appearance of King Dark is a homage to the 40th anniversary of Kamen Rider X (1974), along with the return of Ryo Hayami as Keisuke Jin in Heisei Rider vs. Showa Rider: Kamen Rider Taisen feat. Super Sentai.
  • Despite Kamen Rider Eternal's in-game model return, but unlike the A.R. World counterpart from the prequel, the original Eternal (Katsumi) is considered a new character, due to the game being movie based and his original actor returned to voice him in the game.
  • Hibiki and Gaim are the only characters who can use either a horse (in some scenes) or a motorcycle. Tokugawa uses a horse only.
  • There several differences between the movie version:
    • Agito: Project G4: During the climax of Agito's movie part after G4 allied with the three main riders, G4 only fights G3-X. While in the game, G4 also fights Agito, instead of just G3-X, before G4 fights G3-X alone. Also in this game, Agito didn't fight Formica Regia and instead just fought the Formica Pedes army. Unlike in the movie, G3-X didn't open his helmet during his fight with G4. Gills and Formica Eques didn't appear during Agito and G3-X's temporary alliance with G4.
    • Ryuki: Episode Final: Ryuki (as Shinji) wasn't possessed by Ryuga and Knight didn't fight him before seeing a despaired Shiro Kanzaki in the city's mirrors then flies to Yui's place where she dies, until Ryuga follows him and somehow becomes separated from Ryuki as well. In the first part of the game, he only assists Ryuki and leaves. At the end of the scene, Ryuki and Ryuga perform their Final Vent on the ground instead on the top of buildings where Ren and a dead body of Yui Kanzaki are behind Ryuki next to the lower top of the building where Ryuga is. Unlike in the movie, at the end of Ryuki's movie part in the game doesn't have both Ryuki and Knight transform into Survive form into battling a sudden escaped Mirror Monster entering the real world.
    • 555: Paradise Lost: In the movie, Faiz Axel Form defeated the Riotroopers when they rode Gyro Attacker. While in this game, the Riotroopers do not ride their motorcycles.
    • Blade: Missing Ace: Hajime is still the Black Joker Undead, but also as Kamen Rider Chalice and has remained unsealed due to Jashin 14. Leangle, and Garren aren't present, which also counted Shimura still as Albino Joker, but also as Kamen Rider Glaive. Blade King Form defeats Albino Joker who is not in Jashin 14 form. Also Garren and Leangle do not appear to aid Blade as well.
    • Hibiki & The Seven Senki: There are no appearances of Orochi, Todoroki and the Seven Senki movie Riders themselves, as Armed Hibiki finished off an army of Bakeneko in the Edo Period.
    • Kabuto: God Speed Love: In the movie, Kabuto and Gatack vs. Caucasus' battle was in the space station, however in this game, the first battle is in the castle, then in the final battle, it is in space. The stage set was later cancelled by the developers, as it was only a preview from the website and ended up in space only. There's a difference in Kagami (Gatack)'s death at the hand of Caucasus before Kabuto Hyper Form reset time.
      • In the movie, when Kabuto takes the Hyper Zecter from Caucasus after Gatack takes a blow by grabbing Caucasus' leg, then Kabuto throws him outside into space. Kabuto put Kagami's injured body into the space pod and Caucasus somehow appeared in front of the space pod's mirror, breaking its glass, resulting in Kagami's death. During the time reset, Caucasus is kicked into the Worms' Meteor hive.
      • In the game, Kagami (as Gatack)'s death is the result of Caucasus' finisher. Kabuto Hyper Form resets time and kills Caucasus with only a Hyper Kick on the ground. Meaning that Gatack isn't critically injured at all.
    • Den-O: I'm Born!: Zeronos doesn't appear to aid Den-O due to developers only adding his Zero Form, as well as the Cobra, Salamander, and Molech Imagins to aid Gaoh. In the movie's climax scene, Zeronos appears in Vega Form.
    • Kiva: King of the Castle in the Demon World: Arc was defeated by Kiva Emperor Form and 1986 Ixa's single punches without having Kiva and Arc becoming Flight Style and Arc Legend respectively. Also in this game, the 1986 Ixa didn't open his helmet when fighting with Kiva Emperor Form. The 2000s Ixa also didn't fought Rey and didn't fight the last Legendorga.
    • Decade: All Rider vs. Dai-Shocker: Decade transformed into Complete Form Jumbo Formation without attaching to a summoned J and when he is about to finish off King Dark, he uses the standard Final Attack Ride instead of using the Final Kamen Attack Form Ride card (despite that the Decadriver says 'Final Kamen Attack Form Ride'). Ironically, the Showa Riders, other pre-Decade Heisei Riders (with Kuuga only appeared in Rising Ultimate), Shadow Moon, and Kamen Rider Double didn't appear in this stage existence.
    • W Forever: A to Z The Gaia Memories of Fate: As Double becomes CycloneJokerGoldXtreme, the stage continues on. Also, after having Eternal defeated, Eternal doesn't blast out his finisher to attack Double, before he performs Golden Xtreme on Eternal without having Philip conversing with Katsumi.
    • OOO Wonderful: The Shogun and 21 Core Medals: Gara's foot soldiers are replaced by Yummies. The way that OOO gains the Orange Core Medals is different and OOO uses Burakawani Combo to fight an army of Yummies, instead of the Nue Yummy. Fourze's presence is skipped due to Gara remaining in his gigantic Dragon form, with the battle stage being in the Edo period. Also, the main Greeeds do not appear to give OOO their Core Medals to battle Gara. Birth didn't support OOO to finish Gara via Breast Cannon as well, instead only by OOO.
    • Fourze: Everyone, Space is Here: Groundain and Skydain remained in their vehicle form. Also, there is no appearance of the Powerdizer.
    • Wizard in Magic Land: Beast didn't help the other Kamen Rider Mages who chose to assist Wizard in the Magic Land city. Instead, he only assists Wizard in the game. Maya, Sorcerer's Phantom form (Drake) and the Thanatos machine activation aren't appeared. Wizard remained in Standard Style in the final part of the movie game, unlike in the original movie where he only transformed into Infinity Style. When Sorcerer is about to be destroyed as the result of Wizard Infinity Dragon's Finish Strike, he does not revert back into his Phantom form.
    • Sengoku Movie Battle: There is no appearance of Kamen Rider Zangetsu, Priestess of Fate (Mai from Alternate Timeline) and Legend Rider Arms, as well as Beast. Also, Wizard and Gaim fought Bujin Gaim Lotus Position without becoming Infinity Dragon Gold and Wizard Arms respectively, but didn't get swallowed, did not obtained the deceased 14 Bujin's power and summons Suika Arms and WizarDragon to get out of Bujin Gaim's tree to defeat him. Also, Wizard himself didn't aid Gaim when fighting Bujin Gaim Lotus Position.
  • Ironically, this game was released nearly 3 weeks before Gaim's summer movie premiered in theaters.
    • Although, Gaim Kiwami Arms would be available 5 days after the movie premieres in theaters.
  • Since Kuuga doesn't have any movies, it is currently unknown what will happen to the stage that centers around Kuuga. He does have a stage, dubbed as 'The Number 4 Unidentified Mysterious Lifeform Again?!' and it was just a standard stage where a Rider fights his clone.
  • Despite being in the main story, Ryugen himself is an NPC, as the screenshot that shows Ryugen as playable earlier has been removed in final release.
    • This is most probably because the developers can't bring Kiwi Arms into this game, due to it's barely used appearance. They also can't make Zangetsu Shin suit as Ryugen's Ultimate Form, due to the game was almost finished and Zangetsu Shin I was only a DLC. This is also the reason of Baron Lemon Energy Arms' absence.
    • However, an unused model of Ryugen transforming into Melon Energy Arms can be found in the game's ROM files.
  • XVII only appeared in background stage as NPC.
  • Yoshimune is only playable in two certain areas.
  • Ironically when Hyper Kabuto activates his Hyper Clock Up, he did not change into that mode, as Hyper Form's Hyper Clock Up Mode was originally meant to appear the Ultimate Form state along with Rising Ultimate Kuuga, but recently scrapped out for unknown reason.
  • Zangetsu Shin I is the only Rider who doesn't have a type of vehicle in the series however, he is given a Sakura Hurricane in the game. Beast can sometimes count however, he has Falco Mantle as a vehicle mode.
  • Kuuga, Faiz and Hibiki are the only Rider's whose movie parts doesn't have a movie boss.
  • Faiz's level is the only one that wasn't based on the film's climax.
  • Followed by Kiva (later Kuuga in the last of his story part) from original Battride War story missions, Den-O, W, OOO, and Fourze has an unique unchanged form during their movie story chapter parts:
    • Den-O remained in Sword Form and unable to Form Changes.
    • W CycloneJokerGoldXtreme remained unlimited during his battle with Eternal in the second round.
    • OOO Burakawani Combo remained unlimited in certain chapter part where he got the Orange Medals from Yoshimune.
    • Fourze remained in Final Form Set 1's Ultimate Form, Meteor Fusion States during his battle with the Kyodain.
  • There is a new mechanic about finisher forms. Now there are 2 kinds of finisher forms: 'Strongest Form' and 'Ultimate Form'. The Rider's 'Strongest Form' are the finisher form of BW1 for Riders that now have playable movie-exclusive forms (Den-O, Decade, W, OOO, Fourze, Wizard), and the 'Ultimate Form' is those Riders' movie-exclusive forms and other Riders' finisher forms from BW1 (Kuuga, Agito, Ryuki, Faiz, Hibiki, Kabuto and Kiva). Gaim and Baron both have 'Ultimate Forms' only (Kachidoki Arms and Mango Arms respectively).
  • Riders who don't have 'Ultimate Form' (Kuuga, Agito, Ryuki, Faiz, Blade, Hibiki, Kabuto, Kiva, Den-O (Final Form Set 2: Liner Form), Decade Violent Emotion, W FangJoker, Accel, Birth, Meteor, Beast, Gaim, Baron, Gaim Kiwami Arms (will be changed as Ultimate Form for Kachidoki Arms in possible sequel), and Zangetsu Shin I) acquire power boost with the R2 button while the gauge is full, also slowing the movement of enemies around you. Tokugawa Yoshimune also use this system.
  • Despite that this game was based on movie scenarios, most of the stages were based on summer movies with the exception of Gaim since his summer film wasn't release yet when the game was out.
  • You can now choose 'Strongest Form' you want to use in a stage, for a Rider with multiple 'Strongest Form'. They are:
    • Den-O: Climax Form and Liner Form
    • Fourze: Cosmic States and Rocket States
    • Wizard: All Dragon and Infinity Style
  • Now you can power-up your 'Strongest Form' into 'Ultimate Form' by pressing R2 when you're in 'Strongest Form' while the gauge is full. Some of these, except for Decade, Fourze (in Final Form Set 2) and Wizard (in Final Form Set 1) has a different moves and terminologies as their strongest form. The transformation is as follows:
    • Den-O: Climax Form to Super Climax Form (Set 1)
    • Decade: Complete Form to Strongest Complete Form
    • W: CycloneJokerXtreme to CycloneJokerGoldXtreme
    • OOO: Putotyra Combo to Super Tatoba Combo
    • Fourze:
      • Cosmic States to Meteor Fusion States
      • Rocket States to Meteor Nadeshiko Fusion States
    • Wizard:
      • All Dragon to Special Rush
      • Infinity Style to Infinity Dragon Gold
