Xbox Controller Driver Windows Vista Wired

Hi,

I know they are only available for windows 7 and higher. But i have a extra laptop wich still runs on Vista. I want to try the controller on that. When you connect an Xbox Wireless Controller to your Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 PC with a micro-USB cable, Windows will automatically download and install the drivers for the controller. If Windows is not set to automatically download device software, you can check for updates through Device Manager.

Xbox Controller Driver Windows Vista WiredJust recently, my Xbox 360 wired controller stopped working Windows 7 (64 bit). When I plug the controller into the USB port, a small pop-up message appears in the bottom right corner stating 'USB Device Not Recognized.'
This issue just occurred two days ago. Previously, the controller worked perfectly fine. I just plugged in the controller and the Windows would automatically download the necessary software to make it work. But, when I plugged in the controller two days ago, a new Windows Update appeared for Xbox controller, so I downloaded the update.
However, after that, my Windows is not recognizing the Xbox controller and shows as 'Unknown Device' under USB Human Interface Device in the Device Manager. I thought that the driver is not correctly installed so I downloaded the new driver 'Xbox 360 Accessories Software 1.2' from [Mircosoft's official website](https://www.microsoft.com/accessories/e ... cs-connect).
But, the problem still exists. My Windows won't recognize my Xbox 360 controller. Here is what I have tried so far:
- Uninstall and reinstalled the new driver.
- Connected the controller in USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports.
- Tried downloading the driver for Windows 7 32 bit.
- Checked the controller by plugging it into my Xbox 360 (the controller works perfectly fine)
